The Grey’s Anatomy dreamy doctor Patrick Dempsey and his celebrity makeup artist wife Jillian Fink have apparently ditched their divorce and the subsequent settlement and decided to put their funds to good use. The couple, who split up in 2015, have reconciled and are celebrating and bringing it in in style. They shut down the gossip mills and entertainment news outlets after they made a $6.4 million acquisition of a large luxury home near the beach in Malibu.
This move comes after Jillian parted ways last year with their five-bedroom house in the Pacific Palisades, which she had purchased post their split. That property, in contrast to this one, was more traditional in its styling and approach.
Pacific Palisades was the first to go before selling off their hyped and unconventional California Mansion called Tin House, fashioned by none other than Frank Gehry. The Tin House derives thy name from the corrugated metal sheet wraps and further decorated by designer Estee Stanley of Hancock designs.
The new acquisition which is one acre fully landscaped estate in Sierra Retreat enclave in Malibu. It is a two story, four bedrooms, four bathrooms compacted in a 4415 sq feet area. Colonial Traditional is quite different from the Tin House as it is more traditional, airy and shares a contemporary vibe much less like its predecessor, which gave a cozy- contemporary and outdoorsy loving feel.
This beautiful luxury California home is not on the beachfront but is on the offside of the mountains of Malibu and a short drive away from the beach shore. Engulfed by lush greens the home opens out through a stone paved walkway on to a swimming pool and a tennis court on the outside.
The living room has tones of upholstery in shades of white and beige. It has high ceiling complemented by a double vaulted foyer and a stone fireplace to complete the rustic look. The glass doors in the living room are white wood framed and open out to the backyard and toward the classic beige patio furniture out front. The patio is quite spacious for a large garden party or barbecue. The light colors and presence of natural light give the house a zing and freshness to it.
The staircase is placed off the main entrance-way and leads upstairs to the four bedrooms.
The modern but homey kitchen houses a large oven opposite to which in the center is a white marble with black splotches set counter space matched with dark brown wooden cabinets. The large glass windows serve the space with plenty of light and open out toward the swimming pool.
Opposite to this arrangement is an eight seater dining table big enough to host a big dinner party. Downstairs, as per the listing details, disclosed a library / study with a fireplace and a bedroom for staff and guests.
The top floor has two bedrooms one of which is the master suite with a walk-in closet to which is attached a swanky bathroom with soaking tub and glass-enclosed shower area.
The backyard has a stone paved terrace, lawns encapsulated by palm trees on the sides, a saltwater swimming pool, and a beautiful blue tennis court.
The majestic California mansion bathed in pastels of beige and white with subtle undertones and a brown roof to contrast the color tones which makes it easy on the eyes and is an absolute dreamboat. The home doesn’t seem over done. Adding to the appeal of a “down to earth” Dr. Dreamy
Kudos to the starry couple as this is definitely a celebration of their comeback.
